Microsoft added Windows Installer technology in Windows 2000. Afterwards, made it their strategy to incorporate MSI installation packages in all of their applications they make for Windows' development. Also, Microsoft also made a verdict to leave it to third party vendors to utilize all features of Msi parameters and packaging tools to meet the conditions of clients. Now, the market has become more aggressive with rising number of MSI packaging tools in reaction to this verdict. Though, few of these tools are free of charge but others are saleable.
