Squealing Any noise from your brakes that goes on even when you are not braking is a sign that your brake pads may be worn out. Such an occurrence warrants taking your car in for an immediate inspection of the braking system. A loud squeal every time you brake on the other hand may be an indication that your brake's linings have become hard and crystallized, and are therefore not functioning as well as they should be. This is also a situation that warrants a full brake inspection as early as possible.
