Metal buildings have been a staple in the United States since World War two, when they were used by the United States army for any building needs around the barracks. Metal buildings were a great choice then because of their durability and their relative ease of transport and for those reasons they remain a viable option today. After the war when the Army had no more use for them, they were sold off to be used by the general public. The versatility came in handy as they were used as bakeries, private residences, storage units and for any farming needs. When the environment is too rough the army still uses metal buildings to help get the job done.
